Producers Forum and SRM Grazing Lands Coalition Committee

Sponsored by the SRM Grazing Lands Coalition Committee, Redd Fund, South Dakota SARE, and National Grazing Land Coalition

Putting Science on the Ground – The Producer’s Forum will consist of a full day of symposia and panel discussions featuring producers and land manager’s experiences of “Putting Science on the Ground”. Targeted Grazing and Conservation Grazing will be the primary themes, with presentations focusing on various ways that graziers use livestock to manipulate plant communities for desired outcomes. This forum will also shed light on a topic that is often ignored…navigating the personal and business aspects of contract grazing. The presenters at this forum have gathered the experiences they will be sharing from a “boots on the ground” approach, learning from trial and error in real world settings. In the Upper Midwest, Targeted Grazing and Conservation Grazing are gaining acceptance as more landowners realize the benefits of these practices. We are excited to bring you this diverse group of experienced individuals who will help us understand how they have been successful in managing land, livestock, and people.

Focus will be on targeted grazing, management of invasive cool season grasses, and developing relationships between grazers and managers that have a regional emphasis.
